I think your refinements made it a lot better. I think the big thing to make sure you do is not make the letters look on fire. Close up they don't but far away H and I look on fire because of the pointy shapes. I understand they are supposed to be leaves but that's just one thing I was thinking about.
I also think you should be careful about where you place the sprouting on the Y. It extends the letter differently than how it is on the V. I think it just moves the baseline down on the Y.
